Janet Stammely, LICSW

About

Janet (she/her/hers pronouns) is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University. Prior to joining MCPHS, Janet worked extensively in mental health and substance abuse treatment facilities providing crisis assessment, individual, family and group therapy to adults and adolescents. Janet’s clinical interests include working with anxiety, depression, stress management, relationship challenges, self-esteem and self-acceptance, identity development, family of origin concerns, alcohol and substance misuse, and suicide prevention. Using an integrated framework, Janet works to build a supportive and collaborative relationship within a safe and affirming environment. Here at MCPHS, she works with students from diverse backgrounds, identities, circumstances and abilities. She has both personal and professional interest in exploring ways in which our unique identities have shaped and informed our lived experience. In her free time, Janet enjoys hiking, spoiling her dog and spending time with her family.
