Successful Showing for MCPHS Runners at the Boston Marathon

Bob Cargill crosses the finish line at the Boston Marathon.

Congratulations to the following MCPHS Community members who went the distance at this year’s Boston Marathon.

On Monday, April 15, more than 25,000 crossed the finish line of the 128th Boston Marathon, running the entire 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boylston Street. The following MCPHS Community members were among the finishers:

Arianna Maida, Alum

Not only did Arianna Maida, MPAS ’20, BS’ 18, finish the Boston marathon in under 2 hours and 50 minutes, but she was the fastest woman from Boston to complete this year’s race. She ran her first Boston Marathon as an undergraduate student at MCPHS. She went on to earn two degrees from the University and has worked as a physician assistant at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute since she graduated.


Chrylann Lewis, Alum

Just six weeks after finishing the Tokyo Marathon and completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors, Chrylann Lewis, MPH ’21, BSN ’18, finished her fourth Boston Marathon. Lewis has been a dedicated runner for five years and has taken on a leadership role in her community and running groups. She strives to be an example for all women, proving that anyone can be a runner.


Bob Cargill, Adjunct Faculty

This year’s Boston Marathon marked Bob Cargill’s 16th finish. For the last 10 years, he has received a bib through his running club and has chosen to raise money for Christopher’s Haven, a nonprofit organization founded in Boston that provides accommodations for families while children receive cancer treatment. Over the past decade, he has raised more than $24,000 for them.


Holly Manzelli, Alum

Holly Manzelli, BS ’21, returned to her home city to run not only her first Boston Marathon but also her first marathon altogether. After graduating from MCPHS with her health sciences degree, she pursued nursing, earning a degree from MGH Institute of Health Professions. She works in the Pediatric Cardiothoracic ICU at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego, Calif.
