Customize Your Introduction to Public Health

The MCPHS Graduate Certificate of Public Health is a flexible online program that allows you to customize your experience based on your interests. Choose four of the six course offerings, which cover topics critical to an understanding of the public health field. Topics include a survey of public health; environmental health; health policy and management; social and behavioral sciences; statistics of clinical research; and health epidemiology.

Your Educational Experience

If you pursue the Graduate Certificate of Public Health, you will choose four of six areas of study:

  • Survey of Public Health
  • Intro to Environmental Health 
  • Health Policy & Management 
  • Social & Behavioral Sciences      
  • Statistics of Clinical Research
  • Health Epidemiology

The credits earned from this program can be applied to the Master of Public Health program.

For admission to the program, an applicant must have:

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 3.0 overall GPA on a 4.0 scale or demonstrated experience in the public health field
  • Statement of goals (500 words) that demonstrates an interest in and/or passion for public health
  • Current resume demonstrating experience and/or education in public health or related discipline

 The Certificate of Public Health is a 12-credit program. Students customize their certificate to their specific areas of interest by choosing four of the following 3 credit courses.
