Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Economics and PolicyYour Learning Experience
The program is designed to be completed in two years, whether you study at the Boston campus or online. The in-person Boston program is STEM-designated, allowing students on an F-1 visa who attend the on-campus delivery of the curriculum (in person), to qualify for an additional two years of Optional Practical Training (OPT), for a total of three years of OPT in the United States.
First-Year Experience
- Learn about health epidemiology, health economics, outcomes research, and comparative pharmaceutical healthcare systems
- Study statistics and regression analysis
- Begin participation in a graduate seminar in pharmaceutical economics and policy
Second-Year Experience
- Explore the application of meta-analysis, pharmacoepidemiology, health services research, health care decision analysis, and patient-reported outcomes
- Explore market access pricing, reimbursement, and pharmacoeconomic applications
- Complete a capstone project in data analysis and presentation capabilities or a master’s thesis (the optional thesis track requires faculty approval)
Online Program
The requirements for the online program are identical to those for the in-person program except in the following areas:
- Enroll in just two courses per term if you need to fit the program around a heavy work and family schedule.
- Take courses during the summer term so you will be able to complete the program in two calendar years.
- An additional three-credit elective serves as a substitute for the three credits given for the seminar requirement in the non-thesis option.
