Candid Conversation: Reflections and Advice

What was your most meaningful educational experience at MCPHS?

My first tutoring session as an anatomy tutor stands out. I got this role early in the fall semester last year, and I was initially unsure of what to expect. But after the first session, I discovered a newfound passion for supporting the education of others. It reinforced the idea that teaching is a powerful tool for learning, and it solidified my commitment to helping my peers succeed.

What advice do you have for prospective students?

Find something you love and pursue it to no end. Discovering your passion is the key to a fulfilling educational experience. Once you identify what you are truly passionate about, dive deep into it with enthusiasm and dedication. Take advantage of the resources and opportunities available at MCPHS to nurture your interests and turn them into a career.

Do you have any mentors or people who’ve inspired you?

My sister was part of the program and knew a lot of the faculty, so when I arrived, I already felt connected to many of them indirectly. I’ve spent a lot of time talking with them, and they’ve really helped me understand how I can make the most of my time here. I also had a peer mentor in my Introduction to the Major class. We had a lot of one-on-one sessions, discussing similar things.

What do you hope is your first job after graduation?

I plan to become a dentist someday. However, even as a dentist, I want to still be focused on academia--not only treating and caring for patients, but also being on the forefront of the dental field, and improving it in any way I can.
