U.S. News and World Report names best healthcare careers of 2022, including nurse practitioner, respiratory therapist, and physical therapist.

U.S. News & World Report released its 2022 list of the “Best Health Care Jobs," with nurse practitioners topping it.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, total occupational employment is expected to increase by 3.7% between 2019 and 2029. For healthcare-focused professions, the outlook is especially good. U.S. News and World Report looked at several factors when ranking the careers, including median salary, employment rate, 10-year growth volume, 10-year growth percentage, future job prospects, stress level, and work-life balance.

The list of top 20 healthcare jobs includes many careers that Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (MCPHS) trains individuals to pursue. For example, we offer programs in nursing, respiratory therapy, and physical therapy, to name just a few.

In addition, U.S. News & World Report ranked the best healthcare support jobs. MCPHS offers programs ranging from diagnostic medical sonography to dental hygiene that can help individuals who are interested in healthcare support jobs achieve their goals.

Healthcare jobs accounted for 14 entries on U.S. News & World Report list of the 25 best-paying jobs—and claimed the top 11 spots.

“It is no surprise that healthcare occupations continue to dominate the Best Jobs general rankings; the Covid-19 pandemic has certainly helped underscore the essential role they play in all of our lives,” said Antonio Barbera, consumer advice senior editor at U.S. News & World Report. “The low unemployment rates and strong future prospects for many of these roles certainly reflect that.”

At MCPHS, we are proud to prepare graduates for successful and meaningful future careers across the healthcare spectrum. All of our 100+ programs are designed to empower current and future healthcare leaders to maximize their potential and take their place in a fast-growing industry.
