You also have the option of adopting a concentration in public health or health education. When you graduate, you’ll have the strong foundation needed to assume teaching or management positions within your discipline as well as positions in public health and health education.

Your Degree-Completion Journey

You will take courses across a variety of areas in the arts and sciences and health sciences, as well as general electives.

Arts and Sciences

A minimum of 34 semester hours is required in Arts and Sciences courses. Applicants with credit for Anatomy and Physiology I and II (with labs) and Basic Chemistry I and II (with labs) will be granted additional transfer credit, bringing the Arts and Sciences total to 43 semester hours. Students may complete any missing general education course requirements at MCPHS.

Health Sciences Core

Students must successfully complete all courses in the Health Sciences Core—and all must be taken at MCPHS. Those courses include Health Promotion, Healthcare Informatics, Writing for Health Sciences Professionals, Public Health & Policy, Research Analysis and Methods, and Grant Proposal Writing.

Choose a Concentration

After completing requirements, students will choose between two areas of concentration, healthcare management or health professions education. Both concentrations require traditional coursework and directed study.
