Sherri Cannon

Professor Cannon has more than a decade of experience teaching biology in higher education. She teaches both lecture and laboratory courses for biology majors and health professions students, emphasizing active learning and student engagement.

Her scholarly work includes research on host-parasite relationships and biology education, resulting in multiple publications and conference presentations. In 2022, she received the Margaret Green Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Microbiology Teaching from the Southeastern Branch of the American Society for Microbiology.
