‘Off the Books’ Episode 2 Tackles the Art of Making Friends in College
By Dana BarbutoCo-hosts Emily Obuseh and Kyleigh Hill share stories, advice, and student perspectives on building friendships in the latest episode of the podcast.
The second episode of the student podcast “Off the Books” just dropped, and this time, co-hosts Emily Obuseh and Kyleigh Hill are getting real about one of the trickiest parts of college: making friends.
This episode, “Making Friends Without Being Weird (Mostly),” is full of stories and laughs, but it’s also packed with useful tips for connecting with people on campus. Emily and Kyleigh talk about everything from bonding over classes to striking up random conversations on the train.
The show keeps things fun with their usual segments, like “Tiny Wins,” where Kyleigh celebrates actually sticking to her New Year’s resolution to call a friend every week. Later, the hosts wander campus for the “On the Road” segment and chat with other students about how they’ve made friends. Some joined clubs or student groups; others just showed up to events or said hi to someone new.
“Off the Books” gives you an inside look at student life at Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, shining a light on all the learning that happens outside the classroom. Emily (Health Psychology/Occupational Therapy ’28) and Hill (Diagnostic Medical Sonography ’28) co-host the show. Fanny Fellevik, digital content manager in Marketing and Communications, manages and produces it, with first-year nursing student Cristian Garcia helping out with editing and co-production.
