The latest episode of the 'Off the Books' podcast highlights the learning that happens outside lectures and labs.

“What College Taught Me (That Classes Did Not),” the newest episode of the University’s student-driven podcast, “Off the Books,” takes a candid look at the social and academic realities of campus life. Co-hosts Emily Obuseh, Health Psychology/Occupational Therapy ’28, and Kyleigh Hill, Diagnostic Medical Sonography ’28, tackle topics from how to mentally prep for chaotic weeks to realizing not everyone is meant to be your study buddy.

In their signature “On the Road” segment, students weigh in on what they’ve learned beyond the classroom—commuting tips, support systems, avoiding procrastination (even if imperfectly), and tutoring. The episode also tracks a bigger truth: college isn’t about having everything figured out, but about adjusting, switching paths, and growing into yourself along the way.

Fanny Fellevik, digital content manager in Marketing and Communications, manages and produces the podcast, with first-year nursing student Cristian Garcia helping out with editing and co-production.
