The Hybrid Learning Experience

The Hybrid DPT program combines online learning and immersive experiences on our campus in Worcester, MA. The program includes an in-person orientation plus 10 academic immersions. During the immersions, students complete in-person labs, assessments, and other academic requirements. In-person attendance is required for all students.

Orientation

The Hybrid DPT program begins with a required on-campus orientation in early September. Students will meet faculty and peers and learn foundation skills required for integrated clinical experiences.

Immersion Schedule

There are 10 academic immersions during the first two years of the program. Immersions occur from Saturday through Wednesday and replace normal class requirements. Details and length of immersions are subject to change based on the needs of the program.

Graduation Events

All Hybrid DPT students are invited to participate in graduation events, including an Awards Ceremony and Commencement, held in early May after the Year 3 Spring semester.

Travel

There are several options for traveling to campus in downtown Worcester, MA. Campus is accessible by car, bus, or train. The closest airport is Worcester Regional Airport (ORH), which is currently served by JetBlue, American Airlines, and Delta Air Lines. Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is 55 miles away and accessible by public transportation. Other major airports within driving distance of campus include:

  • Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD)
  • Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT)
  • Bradley International Airport (BDL)

The University works with several hotels within walking distance of campus that provide discounted rates for MCPHS. Details will be provided after admission to the program.
