Weekly Class Requirements

Hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)

A Full-Time, Hybrid Degree

Students who enroll in the Hybrid DPT program commit to a full-time degree. The curriculum is offered through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous online learning sessions with weekly clinical practice.

Synchronous Learning Requirements

Most courses for the Hybrid DPT program are offered synchronously during live, online sessions held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Students enrolled in the program will complete up to 24 hours of synchronous instruction per week, subject to change based on the needs of the program.

During these virtual lectures and labs, students will explore:

  • Movement & Structure
  • Examination & Evaluation
  • Interventions
  • Clinical Practice

Integrated Clinical Experiences

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, students complete in-person integrated clinical experiences at a clinic in their geographic location. University staff will assist students in securing these opportunities, which begin in September of the first year of the program. Students will spend at least two days per week at a clinical site.

Asynchronous Learning Requirements

In addition, students complete some course work asynchronously, at their own pace. Students enrolled in the program complete up to 12 hours of asynchronous learning per week, subject to change based on the needs of the program.
