On-Campus Experiences
Online PharmD—AcceleratedThe Online PharmD is a hybrid program that includes didactic courses completed online with four on-campus experiences. Students will travel to our Manchester, NH campus to complete in-person activities and academic requirements. Details and length of immersions are subject to change based on the needs of the program.
Experience 1: Onboarding/Orientation – Required
This 4-day required experience takes place before the start of the P1 fall semester. It will include:
- Curriculum overview
- Introductions to faculty, advisors, online learning, engagement activities, student services
- Technology requirements checkpoint
- White Coat Ceremony
Academic Immersion 1: Hands-On Skills Assessment & Labs I – Required
The first required academic immersion is 10 days and occurs at the end of the P1 summer semester during the first Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) block. Students will be placed on IPPEs during blocks 2 and 3. Among other activities, this immersion includes:
- Course requirements for PSW 312 – Pharmaceutics II Lab and PPW 333 – Introduction to Patient Care III with Lab
- Longitudinal assessment for PPW 403 – Preparation & Application Through IPPE (pass/fail)
- Earning an Immunization Certificate
- Introduction to P2 courses
- Meetings with faculty and advisors
Academic Immersion 2: Hands-On Skills Assessment & Labs II – Required
The second required academic immersion is 7 days and occurs during the P2 summer semester. Among other activities, this immersion includes:
- Course requirements for PPW 445 and 448 – Patient Care Seminar II and III with Lab and PPW 465 – Clinical Reasoning
- Application/remediation activities
- Meetings with the Office of Experiential Education
- Orientation for the NAPLEX Readiness course
Experience 2: Graduation Events
The final experience is optional but encouraged. It occurs in early May at the end of the P3 spring semester and includes:
- Awards Ceremony
- Commencement
Travel & Accommodations
There are several options for traveling to campus, which is conveniently located in downtown Manchester, NH. For those unable to come by car, several major bus lines offer service to the city. The closest airport is Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT), and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) is 55 miles away and within driving distance.
