About

Professor Hart retired as a Professor of Biology after more than 20 years of teaching in a variety of diverse environments, including undergraduate and graduate programs, in-person and online formats, and both didactic and laboratory courses. Her teaching emphasized critical thinking, strong communication skills, and team-based learning. Her scholarship focused on evidence-based teaching practices, including active learning strategies, instructional technology, and problem-based case studies. Over her career, she served in several leadership roles, including department chair, program director for a major with 650 undergraduates, director of the Faculty Mentoring Institute, and committee chair. She also developed extensive experience in pre-health advising.

Professor Hart was honored with the MCPHS Trustees’ Award for Teaching Excellence in 2015, along with multiple university service awards. She currently teaches part time at MCPHS while contributing to volunteer initiatives, including the WHO European Region Public Health Leadership course.
