Billing, Financial Aid, Payments, and Refunds

This page provides important billing, financial aid, payment, and refund information for the Fall 2026 semester for MCPHS students in Boston. Review the timeline below to learn when tuition bills are available, payment deadlines, financial aid requirements, health insurance waiver deadlines, add/drop dates, and when to expect financial aid refunds. Students can access their account by logging into the Student Account Center with their MCPHS credentials. The Student Account Center provides real-time access to:

Important Billing Information

  • Paper bills are not mailed to home addresses.

Grant Shared Access

Students may authorize a parent, guardian, or other individual to view and make payments on their account by adding them as an Authorized User through the Student Account Center.

Fall tuition is due August 1, 2026.

Payments must be made online through the Student Account Center.

  • 2.85% service fee applies
  • Fee is charged by payment processor

Late Payment Fee

Students who have not made payment arrangements by August 1 may be assessed a $250 late payment fee.

Students may enroll in an interest-free monthly payment plan by visiting the Student Account Center. The plan is administered by Nelnet Campus Commerce.

Enrollment Deadlines

  • 4-month accelerated plan: August 1
  • 5-month (non-accelerated) plan: July 1

Important Details

  • Payments are automatically withdrawn on the first business day of each month.
  • Payment method changes must be made at least two business days before the scheduled withdrawal.
  • Credit/debit card payments include a 2.85% processing fee.
  • E-check payments do not include a processing fee.

Enrollment Requirements

To remain eligible for most federal and private financial aid, students must be enrolled in at least:

  • 6 credits (undergraduate)
  • 4.5 credits (graduate)

Financial aid is awarded based on:

  • Full-time enrollment

Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan

Available for dependent undergraduate students.

  • Parent is the borrower
  • FAFSA/FSA ID required
  • Credit check required
  • Fixed interest rate: 9.07%
  • Borrow up to:
    • $10,000 per semester per dependent student
    • $65,000 lifetime maximum per dependent student
  • Repayment may be deferred until after graduation
  • Students whose parent is denied may qualify for additional Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan funding.

Private Educational Loans

  • Available for undergraduate, graduate, and parent borrowers
  • Compare lenders through ElmSelect
  • Students are encouraged to borrow enough to cover the full academic year's tuition and fees.

Massachusetts law and MCPHS policy require all on-campus students to carry health insurance.

  • Students are automatically enrolled in the University Health Insurance Plan unless they submit a waiver.
  • The waiver must be submitted annually by August 1.
  • Processing typically takes 3–5 business days.
  • Online students are not eligible for the University Health Insurance Plan.

International students can make tuition payments by wire transfer through Flywire.

The following graduated scale of charges for tuition and residence hall fees is used for purposes of determining refunds for students completely withdrawing from the University during the semester:

Second week after the add/drop period (September 17-23, 2026) 50%
Third week after the add/drop period (September 24-30, 2026) 25%
Fourth week and beyond after the add/drop period (October 1, 2026 or later) 0%

Attendance Confirmation

Students receiving financial aid must complete the required Blackboard attendance confirmation once notified. Financial aid cannot be disbursed until attendance is confirmed.

Refund Processing

Students with a credit balance will automatically receive a refund.

Refund timing depends on:

  • Completion of the add/drop period
  • Attendance confirmation
  • Receipt of financial aid funds by the University

Refunds may be issued in multiple payments or delayed depending on funding.

Direct Deposit

Students are encouraged to enroll in direct deposit through the Student Self-Service Portal.

  • Bank verification may take up to 7 business days.
  • Students who do not enroll will receive a paper check mailed to their permanent address.
  • Allow two weeks before reporting a missing refund check to student.accounts@mcphs.edu.
  • Address changes should be made through Self-Service.
