Welcome to the Nursing Program

Congratulations on your acceptance and decision to attend the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at MCPHS. We’re excited that you’ll be joining us soon. Before the program begins there are some next steps you’ll need to take to get ready. On this page you will find important information and forms that you will need to begin your studies. We will continue to post program specific information here so please bookmark this page and visit it often.

Next steps for incoming BSN students.

White coats and name tags will be ordered for each student by the Nursing department. Please fill out the white coat order form no later than November 30 at this link. Sizes should be based on blazers or jackets that you wear over other clothing.

Fall Entry Optional Open House Scrubs Fitting

When: Thursday, November 15 | 10 a.m.-12 p.m.
Where: Manchester campus, Brant Hub at 22 Fir St

Students should arrive no later than 11:30 am if attending the scrubs fitting to allow time for changing and ordering. If you are unable to attend a fitting, please go to the McGill’s store or contact McGill’s at 603.627.3472 to order your scrubs.

Scrubs ordering deadlines: July 19 for fall entry students and November 28 for spring entry students.


A stethoscope with a diaphragm and bell is required. We recommend the Littmann Classic III or the Littmann Cardiology III, but you may choose to purchase any model. Stethoscopes may be purchased from McGill’s or another vendor such as Work’N Gear, 1111 S. Willow St, Manchester,, or Pocket Nurse, 800.225.1600,


Penlights can be purchased from McGill’s or from any vendor.

Wristwatch with second hand

You will need a wristwatch with a sweeping second hand (not digital) for use in lab and clinical experiences. This may be purchased from McGill’s or from another vendor.

Manual Blood Pressure Cuff

An average adult/large size cuff is needed. Please make sure the cuff is latex-free, nylon or other material that can be cleaned, not cloth.

Shoe Requirement

Shoes must be white or black, non-canvas, and rubber-soled, with closed-toe and closed-heel. No logo should be visible. You are not required to purchase special nursing shoes. Any questions about shoes may be directed to the Lab Manager, Professor Normile, at

Beginning in spring 2019, the Accelerated Postbaccalaureate Nursing program will be using ExamSoft (electronic testing software) in all first-year courses. All students are required to bring a laptop or iPad meeting the minimum specifications below in order for you to be able to sit for exams.

Each student will be required to purchase a Privacy Screen or Privacy Filter that fits on their PC, MAC or tablet. Minimum technology requirements are listed below.
