Welcome

Doctor of Healthcare Administration

My name is Christina Mullikin, and I am the DHA Program Coordinator. I want to share some information about our program with you.

First, the basics. This is a 54-credit hour program comprised of 18 courses offered over 3 years, with spring, summer, and fall semesters. The DHA program is academically rigorous, challenging, and engaging, developed and delivered by faculty who are experienced in their fields.

Our students bring a wide range of healthcare experiences to the program, incorporating their unique perspectives, a desire to learn, and a passion for the healthcare system into our interactive and engaging courses.

The courses are presented asynchronously online, allowing working professionals to pursue a doctoral degree in healthcare administration. This melds academic structure and rigor with the ability to complete assignments by a set time frame, yet with the flexibility to schedule your time to effectively meet the deadlines.

Course work delivered each semester is organized by unit or week, and typically includes discussions using discussion boards, written assignments, team-based assignments involving peer collaboration, and journaling allowing you to reflect on your learning. At the doctoral level, there is minimal use of tests and quizzes. Interaction with fellow students and faculty occurs during the discussion boards, or through video engagement.

One unique aspect of our DHA Program is the Capstone Project, representing the culmination of your learning in the program. Paired with a faculty advisor, students explore problems of practice identified through the application of research skills gained through these core classes.

You’ll thoughtfully question current practices in healthcare through appraising research literature and understanding research methodology. Learn more about the Capstone Project on this next steps page.

I am happy to answer any additional questions that you have about our DHA Program. Thank you for your time and I look forward to embarking on your doctoral journey with you!
