I am honored that you have chosen the School of Healthcare Business at MCPHS to advance
your education in your chosen health discipline. I welcome you to the Doctor of Science in
Physician Assistant Studies (DScPAS) online program. I am certain that you will find your time
with the university to be extremely rewarding and helpful in reaching your personal goals and
enhancing your career advancement.
Your peers will consist of professionals from a variety of health disciplines and geographic
areas, and the course work and collegial interactions will well prepare you to excel and be a
significant contributor to the current health system.
Before the start of your program, you will receive a user ID and password to allow you to access
Blackboard which is the educational management platform where all course work and
communication with faculty will occur. You will be enrolled in the School of Healthcare
Business Blackboard Organization, Doctorate Programs. This is a community designed
specifically for you and your needs as a student in our department.
I encourage you to review the content located in the “organization” when you receive access.
Specifically, we have created a virtual orientation with you – the fully online graduate student –
in mind. Meet representatives from university offices and learn about the services that are
available to you during your time at MCPHS. The virtual orientation was designed to introduce
you to our expectations of graduate students and to connect you with university staff/departments
who will help you at MCPHS.
Please find a link to a tutorial you can complete anytime in advance of gaining access to the
system.
Continue exploring this next steps page, which includes the curriculum outline to give you a
clear idea of how you will progress through the program and plan accordingly.
Again, I am thrilled you have chosen our program and extend the warmest of welcomes. I am
available at any time to discuss ideas, receive suggestions for course or program improvement, or
just to chat, I have a virtual open-door policy.
Best regards and I look forward to working with you!
