Activities on our Worcester campus

At MCPHS–Worcester, you will join a diverse group of dedicated professionals working to enhance their current careers or start new ones. But, it’s not all about work – there are plenty of opportunities to get involved with the community, make an impact, or just have some fun.

On our Worcester campus, you will experience:

Block Parties

The best way to make use of the top floor of our parking garage? Block parties! Every semester, our Student Government Association hosts student organizations, vendors, performers, and more for an afternoon of food, celebration, and fun.

Discounts with your MCPHS ID

With your MCPHS ID, you can enjoy discounted access to a number of activities and venues in the area. And admission to the Worcester Art Museum is free for MCPHS students the third Thursday of every month.

Formal Events

From themed dances like “A Night at the Oscars” to program-specific events like the “Eye Ball”–hosted by the School of Optometry–there are plenty of opportunities to glam up and let your hair down.

Holiday Celebrations

One of our favorite traditions in Worcester? Celebrating holidays with our students, faculty, and staff. Join us atop the roof deck at Foster Street for our annual 4th of July celebration, where we play corn hole and watch the fireworks display over the DCU Center. Or participate in one of our oldest MCPHS–Worcester traditions: the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Worcester. Every year, President Monahan leads hundreds of students, faculty, and staff in the parade – each waving a bright green MCPHS flag.

Professional Organizations

Our students understand the importance of professional development. We offer a variety of professional organizations and chapters on our Worcester campus, so that students of all programs have  professional and education resources at their fingertips. Among the opportunities available to students are general meetings, special guest speakers, trips to industry conferences, and more.  For example, the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) hosts current student panels, designed to give first year students advice and insight into the program.

Public Health & Community Engagement

The MCPHS takes pride in providing important public health information to the broader community. Our students, faculty, and staff volunteer at local institutions, including senior centers, homeless shelters, and public schools, providing critical public health education. Each year, MCPHS hosts a Health Fair at Worcester City Hall Plaza, where our pharmacy, nursing, and physician assistant students, among others, provide blood pressure and blood sugar readings, eye examinations, body mass index evaluations and connect with community members. It is the perfect opportunity for our students to put their knowledge to the test – and give back in a meaningful way.

Relaxation Days

Exam weeks can be stressful, which is why our Office of Campus Life hosts special midterm and finals week relaxation programming, including free refreshments, games, therapy puppies, and chair massages.

Residence Life Activities

Residence life is vibrant on our Worcester campus, and there are plenty of activities hosted by our Residential Life team - including a Luau, complete with photo booth, dinner, games, and more.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our entire community is focused on giving back and making a positive impact in the global community – and our own backyards. Student organizations on campus regularly volunteer at blood drives and road races, hold book and food drives, raise funds for medical research through events and fairs. The MCPHS–Worcester Community Engagement Committee brings students, faculty, and staff together for community service projects, including the United Way Day of Caring, when members of the MCPHS community supported community gardening in Worcester through clean-up, harvesting, and planting.

Weekday Activities

From ice cream socials to themed brunches, flu clinics to voter registration drives, there is always something happening on campus.

Weekend Trips

Fill your weekends with full excursions and trips and make personal connections with your classmates to last a lifetime. Join the Outdoors Club for a white water rafting trip or join Student Government Association for a shopping trip to the outlet mall.

Welcome Week

Each fall, we celebrate the beginning of a new academic year with activities like bingo brunch, walking tours of Worcester, and shopping excursions.
