Residence Life Staff

The Residence Life and Housing Office has over 70 professional, graduate, and student staff members to service the over 800 students living in University-sponsored housing.

Resident Assistant (RA)

RAs are talented upper-class student leaders with a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with others. They live in the residence halls with their residents and serve as role models. RAs promote academic success, develop positive relationships, and educate students about their responsibilities within the college community. In addition, they respond to emergency situations and are responsible for enforcing University policies in the residence halls.

Graduate Assistant (GA)

GAs are part-time live-in professional staff members employed by the Office of Residence Life. They are graduate students pursuing Master's degrees and assist Area Coordinators with the administrative and programmatic aspects of the residence halls. GAs serve in the Residence Life on-call duty rotation and respond to urgent/emergency situations as necessary.

Area Coordinator (AC)

ACs are full-time live-in professional staff members employed by the University. They have direct responsibility for all student development functions in their areas and are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the residence halls. The AC supervises a staff of Resident Assistants and has primary responsibility for the resident students in their halls. ACs serve in the Residence Life on-call duty rotation and respond to urgent/emergency situations as necessary.

Desk Attendants (DA)

DAs are MCPHS students who assist with the safety of Fennell, Matricaria, and Edwards/Rodgers residence halls. They are responsible for signing students in and out of the residence halls.

Residence Life Student Workers

Residence Life student workers assist the professional staff with the day-to-day operations of the residence hall offices. Student workers are responsible for sorting mail, filing, receptionist tasks, and computer data entry.
