Boston Campus Study Spaces
Here is a list of study spaces in and around the Boston campus. You can start here, but don’t be afraid to find your own quiet nook for studying. Some areas are designed for individual study; other locations are designed for social space and are better for group discussion and socializing. This guide will help you figure out which of the many options at the University is best for your needs.
Matricaria lobby
The lobby has soft seating for 16, including couches and chairs. There are also tables that seat up to 15 people and two benches that seat two each.

2nd Floor Henrietta DeBenedictis Library
The library is a great place to study. The left and right sides of the library have quiet study rooms with a mix of study carrels, table seating, and soft chairs with table arms. The far right side of the library has the leisure reading collection of popular paperbacks. Group study rooms generally hold two to six people and can be reserved at the circulation desk. The library has three printers and one photocopier. In total, there are 104 individual study carrels (101 in Quiet Study areas); table seating for 22 (16 in Quiet Study areas); 25 soft, comfortable armchairs (13 in Quiet Study); 49 computer stations; six group study rooms with seating for six each.
Hours: The library is open 24/7 during finals periods. Check the website for regular hours.
3rd Floor Matricaria Quiet Study (3017)
This space is for individual quiet study. It has 40 individual study carrels and three six-seat tutoring rooms which are available for group study when not in use.

3rd Floor Matricaria Quiet Study (3009)
This space is for individual quiet study. It has 62 individual study carrels.

3rd Floor Technology Center
The space is designed for individual computer use. It has three printers and 68 computer stations.
Hours:
Monday – Thursday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday: 10 a.m. to 5 .p.m.
Sunday: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
First floor Student Lounge – designed to be social space
This is generally a social area during the day but this space can be used for studying if you are comfortable with background noise. The TV is usually on and there is a microwave which makes it a good place to study, socialize, and eat. The lounge is a space that is often used for student programming and is not available during a program. In total, there is table seating for about 24; four internet-only computer stations; eight computer stations; soft seating for about 18, divided between various chairs and sofas. There is also tall bench seating for about 12.

The Atrium – designed to be social space
This is typically a social area during the daytime and can periodically be used for events. This is a good place to eat and study or have group discussions. There is table seating for 90 people. The Atrium is often used for student programming and is not available during a program.

Griffin Building lobby
This space is designed to be social, with a television and couch-style seating. There is table seating for 36; soft seating for eight; 24 computer stations; two benches that seat two to three people. Additionally, there are two printers located in this space.
Regular hours: Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., closed on weekends
Griffin Building second floor lobby
This lobby area with large windows overlooking Huntington Avenue makes this a pleasant environment for study. Classrooms are also located in this area so be mindful of speaking loudly. There is table seating for 12 people and soft seating for 12 people.

Griffin Building basement lobby
This area is outside the auditorium. Drink and snack vending machines are located here. In total, there is table seating for 12, soft seating for eight, and 12 computer stations.

Basement study lounge (WB21)
This space is best suited to group study work and individual computer use, although it can be used for individual study. There is table seating for 16 people with a total of 22 computer stations. Three internet-only computer stations are also available with no seating.

First floor Quiet Study (W105)
This area is designed for individual quiet study. There are no windows and very few distractions. There are 28 individual study carrels and two computer stations.

White Hall foyer (third floor)
This is a good place for collaborative group study. Many students like to study here during evenings/weekends on the eight-round study tables which can seat up to 34 students.

White basement Technology Center
The space is designed for individual computer use. It has 48 computer stations and two printers.
